Professor Dornis presents at the 2024 annual conference of the Wettbewerbszentrale (Association for Fairness in Competition)

As part of the 2024 annual meeting of the Wettbewerbszentrale in Bad Homburg, Professor Dornis gave a lecture on April 24, 2024 on the topic “Artificial intelligence and competition – unfair competition law on the brink?”

The increasing use of AI systems in competition provokes far-reaching upheavals in the marketplaces of the information economy. Not only will ever more questions of transparency arise, but also a need to avoid risks of an increasingly personalized advertising environment dominated by AI systems.

 

The Association for Fairness in Competition, as a self-regulatory institution for the German economy, aims to promote fairness in competition. Its members include around 800 associations and around 1,200 private companies, also including the chambers of industry and commerce, chambers of crafts and leading German business associations. The statutory tasks of the Association are to enforce the law against unfair competition. The Association publishes numerous publications on current developments in competition law.
